ASFG
- The vast majority of smallholder farmers are women. Women produce over 70% of the food in Africa.
The African Smallholder Farmer Group (ASFG) is made up of international NGOs who are committed to creating an enabling environment for marginalised farmers across Africa.
The ASFG brings together organisations who work with smallholder farmers across Africa to:
• share experiences and good practice
• carry out joint research to build a body of evidence on approaches that work
• advocate for appropriate investment and development policies and practices that support smallholder farmers. The group focuses in particular on lobbying the UK government on its agriculture and livelihood support to Africa.
