You did it! We won the Greentree Competition!

I think I’m still in shock!!!! When Greentree called to say that Concern Universal had won the GAME ON grand prize of £150k in systems investment I actually had to call them back to ensure that someone wasn’t playing a prank. Wow, unbelievable!!! We were up against some strong competition- organisations that had just as much reason to want the prize as we did, which makes winning even more gratifying.
What a prize and an what an opportunity!!!!

I want to thank each and every one of you that has helped us achieve this. Thank you for your votes, for spreading the word and for your continuous support of Concern Universal. The public vote counted for 50% of the outcome so we really couldn’t have done it without you.

Thanks to the Judges; Maggie Philbin, Terry Forsey, Liz Jackson, Campbell Williams & Harry Mowat who could see just how big a difference Greentree could make to Concern Universal.

Also, thank you to Greentree, Hoge 100 and Six Degrees for presenting an opportunity to apply for such a competition in the first place!!! There is no way we could have funded this without the competition.

So what’s next? Well now the hard work starts. This week I will be meeting with Greentree partner Hoge 100 to discuss project scope and time lines. Most of the system analysis has already been conducted from a UK perspective, with a plan to get together an international project team to ensure that every country programme’s needs are met. This will include staff from all levels of the organisation, to ensure that no stone is left unturned to make the system work for us in the most efficient and effective way for everyone. Concern Universal is a decentralised organisation, so finding a configuration that will meet with every country’s needs is going to be a huge challenge, but one which we are embracing fully as the benefits will be huge!! There are very exciting times ahead… this space!!!

PS. Winners of the iPod Touch and Pure Radio will be announced soon.

Thanks again everyone.
