Health
- Because of our work last year
- We helped over half a million people gain access to safe water.

Access to safe water & sanitation, preventative healthcare, improved nutrition, & action on HIV and AIDS.
Over two million people in developing countries, most of them children, die unnecessarily every year because of unsafe drinking water, inadequate toilets and poor hygiene3. In almost all of our community consultations, people tell us that clean water is their top priority. So for over 20 years, we’ve been improving people’s health by providing clean water and toilets. To ensure more sustainable facilities and greater self-reliance, we help communities raise maintenance funds for their water points, establish water committees and train local government to give better support. We combine this work with improving preventative health care and nutrition, and action on HIV and AIDS. We reach young men and women with prevention messages; support people living with HIV to access treatment, care and support and help them and their carers to earn a decent living.
