Firstly, of course, they make honey – delicious, nutritious and in high demand at the local market. But organised bee-keeping also means that farmers can grow more, by placing bee-hives near to farmed land so that the bees will help pollinate crops. Bee-keeping is also helping save the local forest, by reducing tree-felling and burning to find honey from wild bees. So bee-hives are helping people earn a decent living whilst also improving the natural environment.
