Chickens are good.

They provide a cheap and sustainable source of protein and eggs. Poor rural families can affordably keep chickens and sell their eggs at the local market to get a good income. With this income families can afford basic healthcare, improve the stability of their home, or provide a school uniform so that their child can go to school.
