Grasscutter Rats
Grasscutter rats are good.
Grasscutters, also known as Giant Cane Rats are a delicacy in West Africa. Their meat provides a tasty and valuable source of protein. Each year, in Ghana, about five million hectares of vegetation are lost through bushfires, many started in the hunt for wild grasscutters. Domestic grasscutter rearing provides women with a much-needed source of food and income, whilst helping protect the natural forest by reducing bush-burning.
