The Gambia and Senegal
- Last year, we helped over 400,000 of the poorest and most vulnerable people in The Gambia and Senegal.
We’ve been creating greater opportunities for people in The Gambia to improve their lives since 1992, and in neighbouring Senegal since 2002. We focus on developing rural incomes that sustain livelihoods; improving the ability of communities to avoid and respond to disasters; and reducing the spread of HIV/AIDS.
Because of the ongoing conflict in the Cassamance region of Senegal, we’re also supporting communities on both sides of the border to promote peace, economic stability and rehabilitation.
